3.3.15: High on the Heath

A day for walking around north London and enjoying some urban nature: Highgate Cemetery where movers and shakers from Karl Marx to Malcolm McLaren rest eternal amidst angels overgrown with moss and ivy, Hampstead Heath with its amazing trees and dramatic skies, Kenwood House for Larkin’s big “workshop” paintings of 17th century teens in punky clothes (check out the slashed fabric on that dress!) and single eye miniatures on ivory, and meandering the Regent’s Canal all the way to the Camden Town Lock. Thank you for slowing down.
