3.31.12: Water Water Everywhere

A delicious caffetino in the pensione breakfast room as conversations swirl around us (Franny & Zooey meets Travels With My Aunt) and fingers rifle guidebook pages like rosaries. Vaporetto: the way to go. The art of the cut. Giudecca’s quiet courtyards. Elliott Erwitt photographs in a Neo-Gothic palazzo. Lunch on the Lido. The little paper shop. Playtime in Campo San Polo. Gelato gelato gelato gelato. Paradiso per tutti at Paradiso Perduto with Camilla and Ettore. A compilation of church bells. And back to Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival for the awards ceremony, a packed house with everyone excited and dressed elegantly in black… Afterwards, a big dinner with the entire festival team where we collectively celebrate the success of the festival and talk about their dreams and plans for the future… Will talent, intelligence, dedication and youthful energy triumph over economic uncertainty, political stagnation, lack of jobs and limited opportunities in the homeland??? In bocca al lupo, ragazzi!
