6.8.17: Two Days In Riga

First impressions: delicious food, delicious coffee, an obsession with berries, bikes on sidewalks, women walking around all hours of the day and night with big bundles of flowers wrapped in brown paper, deco details and a whole street of magnificent buildings designed by Mikhail Eisenstein (father of “father of montage” Sergei), spa cats and birch branches, cool & kooky fashions, pagan rituals, found footage in bars, trams with tvs and signs forbidding flaming arrows, The Singing Revolution, sudden rainstorms opening up to sunny skies, endless twilights, a lightness of being, sowing the seeds for The Sound We See. We’ll be back in July! Next stop: Bulgaria!
