The best thing about staying at the glamorous Hotel Hemus (where we’re camped out for a couple of days so we don’t disturb our Zgorigrad hosts during our crazy all-night shooting schedule) is the view of the town square where daily life in Vratsa becomes pure poetry.
Here’s the sounds going on right now outside the window of our guest house in the tiny village town outside the small town of Vratsa: several girls singing folk songs in harmony, a dog barking hoarsely, two men arguing, birds chirping, a car engine revving, someone raking something. Paradise!
