11.14.16: Heroes

This morning, we went with Ulla to Munkebäcksgymnasiet to film a Swedish language class for recent immigrants. Talking about the impact the American election will have on the whole world with a room full of bright young men from Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea, China and Vietnam who had battled untold horrors and hardships to start new lives in a country so far from their homelands was beyond humbling. Emely’s shoot with some of the boisterous men who spend much of their time hanging out behind the liquor store in Majorna was intense in a whole different way. And then the rain started POURING down! But we enjoyed the sound of it echoing in the courtyard from inside Hanieh’s cozy apartment where Pippi Longstocking watched over the last shoot of the day with bemusement…
